From November 6th till 10th the partners from the 5 schools met in Ankara for the opening meeting.

On Thursday the guests from Spain, Portugal, Romania and Belgium received a very warm welcome in the Turkish school. After a meeting with the headmaster and staff, there was plenty of time to visit several classes. The children prepared songs, dances, drawings….

After the school visit there was a meeting with the major of Keçiören and a guided tour in Ankara. The team visited Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Ataturk, the founding father of Turkey. In the evening the old town and Ankara Castle were on the programme.

On Friday and Saturday the team had their opening meeting. The logo was chosen and the partners presented their school, their town, their country, their education system. Most time was spend on planning and discussing the different parts of the project. The team worked very hard and agreed on most items.

On Saturday evening there was a short ceremony where each member received a certificate. After that the partners had a final meeting to discuss some practical items from the project.

And then it was time to say goodbye. Next meeting will be in April in Belgium.

All members of the team are very enthusiast to work hard on this beautiful project.
